Together with tech-startup PACE Telematics, the leading  international vehicle inspection company DEKRA is developing a new  algorithm for increased driving safety. The program analyzes driving  and environmental data and is already in the test phase.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cDEKRA Safety Index\u201d is designed to make safe driving behavior measurable and  promotable. The Karlsruhe startup PACE and DEKRA Digital GmbH set themselves  this common goal in order to noticeably reduce the number of traffic accidents caused  by human errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An algorithm for greater road safety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is made possible by analyzing speed, acceleration and braking behavior as well  as other environmental and driver influences. With the help of PACE’s new  technology, it will be possible in the future to assess how safe a driver acts at the  wheel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Safety Index determined is intended, for example, to help passenger transport,  vehicle fleets, freight forwarders and insurance companies to adapt processes and  services to current safety requirements. Another possibility is the use of so-called  “heat maps” with accident focal points for smart city concepts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reduction of human risks with Big Data and IoT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

“In the future, road safety will increasingly be determined by technology.”, says PACE  founder Dr. Martin Kern, “PACE’s cross-manufacturer cloud and IoT technology offers  the perfect conditions for a data-driven improvement of road safety by minimizing  potential driver risk factors. Of course, we attach great importance to data protection  and data security during the implementation.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a leading player in road safety, DEKRA enjoys the utmost trust from customers  and partners. PACE founder Robin Sch\u00f6nbeck is proud of the cooperation: “The  partnership between DEKRA and PACE offers countless attractive opportunities to  expand our road safety services for our B2B customers in the future. This includes,  for example, completely new application possibilities such as data-based driver  training for professional drivers”.
